It is no secret that the beetle infestation of Colorado’s forests has left a huge quantity of dead trees lying in the forest rotting away.
This chunky table does its best to put some of this otherwise undesirable wood to good use.
With its wide plank top, and thick legs cut from 4”x6” timbers, a mildly arched ladder truss pegged in cherry draws your eye to more than just the blue of the pine.
Two matching benches join this monster for larger gatherings.
Be warned that the nature of this wood is prone to bending and twisting causing surface to change with time.
It is not unusual for items built with larger pieces to become slightly warped or crooked as climate changes.
The piece can be made to sit flat on the ground, however its surface may not remain perfectly level.
The Finish on this table is a natural Watco Danish oil with the top surface sealed in a clear wax.
